JoAnna L. Mazur

JoAnna L. Mazur, Grants Administrator, has served Onondaga Environmental Institute (OEI) since October 2011. In this role, Mrs. Mazur manages and coordinates grants, assistance agreements and contracts; plans, implements and evaluates proposals and awards; provides oversight on subawards, subcontracts, sponsorship programs and multi-institutional teams; works closely with the controller to maintain a General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) compliant bookkeeping system to facilitate budget management, invoicing, tracking and reporting; and ensures compliance to established organizational administrative and financial policies and procedures as well as State and Federal regulations. Mrs. Mazur has been managing grants since 2009 between her time at OEI and her previous positions as AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer Coordinator and Service-Learning Coordinator at the Family Resource Center/Girls & Boys Club of Anaconda-Deer Lodge County, Montana. She has overseen millions of dollars in grant funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), U.S. Corporation for National and Community Service (US CNCS), National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), County of Onondaga, and a multitude of local municipalities and private sources. She brings a wealth of experience from previous positions coordinating service-learning, youth development, volunteer programs and substance abuse prevention. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Oswego State University in 2006 double-majoring in Public Justice and Psychology.
