The Onondaga Lake Restoration Act embraces a holistic approach, building upon a long standing federal commitment to restore and protect Onondaga Lake, part of the Great Lakes watershed.<\/p>\n

Onondaga Lake is sacred to the Onondaga Nation<\/a>, revered as the birthplace of democracy, and suffered a century of abuse from open dumping of industrial toxic and municipal pollution.<\/p>\n
